updates....
Sorry I took so long to holla
I've been settling into life in nyc....been here for a month now,
its been an experience.
where do i start?
OK so i got my new apt, lower Manhattan...its pretty fly...I'm happy its much like my house at home..so not too much of a difference...except I'm thinking i must devise a much better situation for storing my shoes...they're all stuck @ the bottom of my cupboard..which I'm told in my "feng shoe" book which Christa my friend recently bought me is def not the way to store em...apparently i should have white shoes in the "north west corner of the top of the bottom right of the left of the sofa..." i dunno...truly i don't..fun read tho... truly fun read...
Yeah so i been out experiencing NYC summertime...cafe habana (and oupost on BK!) billy's cake shop, coney island, chelsea pier, bryant park, downtown BK, broadway and shopping in soho, wall st etc....
its been fun so far..
Coney island i know you woulda heard of there from films like Tom hanks "BIG" and "wish you were here..." (i think)
for those who don't know its like the equivalent to the Ur's Brighton beach or Blackpool...only its about to undergo a similar fate to Brighton beach in that they're gonna tear down and rebuild the main amusement park in to a set of condos (New apt builds) so i decided i had to go...
So i went there w a couple mates Christa and Jordan, there was a parade called "the mermaid parade" apparently yearly...
I realised how easily i was amused - they had AAAALLLLL the old school funfair shit..i was like wow i remember...lol
wet on a few rides suddenly got mad tired and needed to sleep..specially after walking aaaaalllll the way round the parade to get to the side of the rides...
tried to line up for "Nathan's hot dog's" apparently the first and original...( i dunno..)
ended up not being bothered to wait in the HUGE line's and ate a hot dog and a corn dog (hotdog sausage in fried cake - ish batter) from another place...
not the best experience in the world...but hey i did it...
slept allll the way back on the train to Manhattan...
the weird thing abt the trains is to get to coney island was like catching a Piccadilly line train from heathrow to finsbury park in distance...but imaging finsbury park as being the beach?
weird right?
lol
anyhow other than there cafe habana outpost (Fulton and st Portland Brooklyn) has become the british embassy...its so bk but there are soooo many British folk here now....and everyone kinda gets together theyre drawn to each other a lil bit...its funny you can tell...or you can tell guys who have been to London they immediately spot you and come and say hey or whisper and stare hard enough for you to be like - have i met you?
all good...tho get to meet some interesting folk..case in point...during my lil excursion into trying to be a lil bit open to different kinds of people...i met this guy...
perfectly cool for the first few conversations...tho i shoulda been wary when he said he shared his car w his cousin.
hmmmmmm..he was 34 yrs old. exactly.
anyway...
yeah he kept trying to take a pic of me?!?
weirdooooo....
then i find out he's divorced w 3 kids and keeps referring to his significant other as "my wife errr - i mean my ex wife"
you know i was like "REALLY - i'm toooo young for this!!"
which just leads me to think....keep it closed keep it closed...
it doesn't get anyyyy better across the pond ladies...
Good ones are few and far everywhere! there's just a lil more variety looks wise...which is NEVER bad...lol..
anyhow i have a photo shoot this week...so were getting it popping for the album release etc...everyone is excited..and hype, the music is feeling great and I'm in love w the body of work we've created...
i hope when its released..(soon my prettys...) the rest of the world loves it...:-)

That's an interresting read. I had those hot dogs the last time I was in New York and they are good, but not THAT good so you didn't miss out on much ;)
As far as the men, you know reading your blog it got me thinking back to this conversation with my girls about us getting older and how more and more men we meet have kids. And I know for myself that I could date a man with a kid or three, but I really am hoping that one day when I have a kid which will be my first it will also be his first too. It just seems more special that way...
But anyhow, I'm glad there is at least more to look ;) which is never bad and me having a boy friend now, I am still looking forward to do some sightseeing in new york with my girls this summer :) hehe.... (NO I'm not a flirt)!
I'm glad you re enjoying the summer and that you re busy with music, I will buy your album when it drops. And you will meet a great guy some day too, but for now ENJOY being single in the big city...
Much love, I
Oh heck girl, I thought New York had swallowed you whole.
Corn dog? You know whenever I watch the movies I always wonder what that is. Now I think I have an idea... Uhmmm.. No I still don't have a clue what that ish is.
As for dodgy men. I am SO GLAD to hear that they are everywhere. Shoo I was starting to think I was cursed-meeting all the wrong kinda guys. But it's just what guys do- take chances.
Ooh New York New York. Am planning a bit of a trip there this time next year-yay!!
Can't wait to hear your stuff :)
Be blessed
Just a fan dropping by to wish you all the best with your new adventure... sounds like you are becoming very acclimatised!
I am loving the thought of a new album from you.

Hey Ms Beautiful Soul here... you are so lucky to be living there... Man I'd live anywhere out of Europe if I could!
you are right about the divorcee stuff... who wants to be dealing with all that jazz, better you hook up with a 22 year old than someone with all that baggage!!!
