Why am i still awake?
Ok its end of the month, i'm in my apt and relatively chilled but for the past couple nights i just can't get no sleep - to ref a faithless song...(thanks maxi)
argh!
its been a funfilled month...from album test shoots (I never knew they did those!!! Shows what i was working with) to real photo shoots...to meetings to going out to random parties and events.....only in NYC can you do this all in one night...
* get up mad late...
*laze around nyc trying to find a good restaurant (when i know damn well i shoulda kept my ass indoors and cooked but what the hey...im young and the sun's out...)
*visit virgin megastores and pick up every comedy you ever wanted to see that you don't yet own...including the up to date episodes of def comedy jam..(yes they started that up again w some old some new comedians...)
*stop by the cinema which was next door - pick up tix to watch the simpsons
*go across the street to union sq get some ice cream to waste time...
*stumble upon some capoeira dancers..."dancing"
*admire their bodies without looking like a perv....lol
*go and get some flat shoes cos your feet are now burning
*walk back over to watch the simpsons early show
* end up sitting waaaay away from your mates cos the cinema is packed...gosh!
*go and see a play...which was quite good!!! (Gooo Kim!)
*take yourselves allll the way uptown to a puerto rican salsa bar....and eat more food!
OK now bear in mind youve been munching alllllll day...
>but the music, the variety of "ahem" people (read: men - See I have a weakness for lightskinneded guys w dark beards/goatees facial hair..no not freeway/osama thick...but a lil ruggedness or tapered...i do not mind!!!) well you just have to....(7 more hours skipping!)
ONLY IN NYC!
and even though im living and my writing is coming back....(i had a 2 month dry spell where everything i wrote and sang was "nyaaaaaahhhh") i should be able to sleep and i cannot!
god knows everything is coming swimmingly w my career and all...gotta love the state of mind out here...things happen and fast - but i only get like this when im worried or need to think yet im not worried - infact im strangly calm as i type this...
and im over thinking things to the point of blankness....
Shiiiiiit maybe i just need some sex!

I think I KNOW what it is wrong with you!!!
You can't sleep because
1. You're in NY- the city that doesn't sleep, so why should?
2. You might be able to sleep if you were having a little bit of sex (just kidding- I'm speaking for myself ha ha ha)
3. Things are going exactly the way you want them to. And THAT my dear takes a bit of getting used to ;)
4. Salsa??? Hot men??? The Simpsons??? All in one day????
I wish I was sleeping , but it's back to work for me :)
Lol @ Freeway/Osama thick,nuts. Maybe u're just anxious.Sometimes we're overcome by anxiety without knowing why and it's only until later that we find out the cause. Or maybe it's coz of what Ms Porcelain said,lol. Hell,I keep going 2 bed at 4am lately doing nothing but be on this damn computer,youtubin',downloadin movies(shhh) and talkin 2 insomniacs. Believe when ure album is out,any minute that u can afford you gon' be flat out sleeping!It won't even be an option.
dammit i hope so! i have these bouts of insomnia even when i'm over tired...like my eyes just wont stay closed! 2 hrs here...30 mins there..

I can only tell you that both comments above make sense. In fact I think it's like miss ap said: Sometimes we're overcome by anxiety without knowing why and it's only until later that we find out the cause.
All I know is that is sucks, I was dealing with it once, 2 years ago, I can honestly said that those few weeks of not sleeping for no reason were the worse weeks of my life. It stopped when I traveld to the us because of the time differance somehow I menaged to get back on track and sleep when Im supposed to and throughout the night.
I belive the answer is: You're life is the way it should be, you have no worries and that in itself can cause a worrie if you're used to worrie, which we all naturally usually do. Or it's just the city it self :) so you might want to visit home and see if that helps for a week or two.
Either way, I hope it goes away soon cause for those who don't know, it really really sucks not being able to sleep.

Must say I had a little chuckly reading your blog. Dont understand why you aint sleeping. You seem to be keeping real busy, pssh if I did that much id be in bed for the next 24hrs lol. If it is because lack of sex it shoudln't be too hard finding a nice looking bloke in NYC! Also Simpsons movie, was I the only person that was rather dissapointed not only with having to sit in opposite sides of the cinema to all my mates but with the actual movie itself??!
