#myhairislaid like..... I'm sorry #mydarlings, I couldn't resist. Today for my #BlackHistoryMonth tribute, we are celebrating the legendary countess of the coif Madame CJ Walker, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and activist.

Born Sarah Breedlove on a Delta, Louisiana plantation, this daughter of former slaves transformed herself from an uneducated farm laborer and laundress into one of the twentieth century’s most successful, self-made women entrepreneurs. [She] revolutionized the hair care and cosmetics industry for African American women early in the 20th century.

For more details and information about this exemplary woman click here, or here.

PS Cleaveland, are you ready for your girl? There is still time to cop your tickets for tonight!
