Good Evening#mydarlings!
So sorry I haven't had a chance to give you a long post in a minute. Promo season just begun for the doll and I am certifiably going HAM. Every day a different city. Life's been hectic but I am so blessed to be able to live it! I wanted to give you a few pics from my trip to Philly where I performed as a part of the Wawa Welcome America! Philly 4th of July Jam. Here are my pics from the rehearsal for the concert.

In Larry Gold studio in Philly with ?uestlove prepping for the show. This studio is a reknown staple in Philly. Being in this studio brough back a lot of memories. This I recorded some of my first album. That seems like such a long time ago. Funny how life comes full circle. Here I am getting ready to drop my next album and I find myself right back at one of the places where I started in the States.

In the studio practicing with The Roots. I love how this shot gives vintage Nina Simone.

Running through the set....

I turned around while singing and there was Jazzy Jeff on the turntables. Seeing him brought back my whole childhood. I remember one time he was doing a show back at home I went to see him right after work. I remember it so well because at the time, I only had one pair of trainers (sneakers) and I wore them to the club to go and see him. He played for 4 hours STRAIGHT. That was when I'd first started rapping too. It was a moment! Seeing him was really a moment for me. When I see him now, it's so amazing 'cause I remember that and now I get to be onstage with him.

My jaw dropped when Michael McDonald came into the studio. In my mind I was totally like "OMG!!!! That is MICHAEL MCDONALD!!! And I get to sing with MICHAEL MCDONALD!!!"
I was swooning inside, but I tried hard to keep my cool. I definitely called my mum as soon as we were done rehearsing like "Mum, guess what I get to do today!" lolol

Performing with great and seasoned performers like the Legendary Michael McDonald make it easy for you to blend with them. It's humbling to have the chance to perform with someone so amazing.

Philly's own DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Doll.
?uestlove's vinyl library? I can't take it. It's like a reka sto'...lol a record store. It is simply so damn amazing! After rehearsal, AJ Calloway interviewed me in here for BET.
Many more pics to come #mydarlings. I'm coming to a city near you sooner than you think. Stay tuned into the blog to find out about my newest adventures! 'Til next time #mydarlings! xoxoxo
